Vacuum furnaces take care that hardening is carried out in a highly sophisticated manner. Due to the absence of oxygen during the heating process, there is no oxidation and the products remain clean and bright.

Undesired oxidation effects (such as decarburization) do not take place during the vacuum process, which makes the additional treatment is many cases not necessary. As a result of that, at the end of heat treatment, it is much easier to retain desired sizes and dimensions.

If a products that is subject to hardening in the vacuum furnace needs to be tempered there as well, it is not necessary to clean or blast it, which means lower risk due to less handling, and therefore, faster turnaround times.
