PONTUS TAKES IMPORTANT STEP TOWARDS AEROSPACE

FARNBOROUGH, 14 July 2016 – At the Farnborough International Airshow Pontus HeatTreatment has taken an important step to be able to supply heat treatment to the aerospace industry by singing a Memorandum of Understanding together with PM Aerotec (Hengelo, NL) and Marshall Group (Cambridge, UK).

Marshall already is an important customer to PM Aerotec. The Hengelo based company can by co-operating with Pontus increase their footprint with the English builder of aircraft modules. To Pontus the consequences of this agreement can be even bigger: General Manager Wubben predicts that by entering the aerospace market the company can double in size in the next couple of years. To reach this Pontus needs to comply with Nadcap regulations. By means of this agreement with Marshall (in which Marshall agrees to support Pontus with training and expertise) Pontus will be able to comply with these regulations. “This qualification is extremely important to the development of Pontus, but also to the aerospace industry in the Twente region.” says Wubben. Mr Lüth – CEO of PM Aerotec – adds: “To us it is important to have qualified suppliers like Pontus in the vicinity. This keeps communication simple so that we can supply to the important customers in the aerospace.”

At the end of this year Pontus will conclude its qualification, after which the two companies will start to supply parts that will end up in the new Boeing military aircraft.
